Athletics Purpose
"And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ." Colossians 3:23-24
It is the desire of Calvary Baptist Church Academy that our students use athletics to glorify God through physical activity. It is with this goal in mind that the following objectives are developed for our sports program:
- To develop the student’s spiritual and mental aspects of life as well as their physical abilities
- To teach Christian character
- To build school spirit
- To give students the opportunity of witnessing before, during, and after the game
- To honor God through the area of athletics
CBCA competes in the MACSAC (Maryland Association of Christian Schools Athletic Conference. MACSAC consists of about 8 schools and offers a variety of tournaments for middle school, junior varsity, and varsity programs. CBCA uses gymnasiums, soccer fields, and baseball fields from the community. The school athletics program puts emphasis on fundamentals throughout the program. CBCA has won a variety of conference and state championships over the years and continues to strive to increase the level of competition.
